Illa J "Never Left" Tour

This past week, the West coast was blessed with sounds from a pack of diverse hip-hop savants. In partnership with long friends of ours at Delicious Vinyl, producer and rapper,  Illa J set high frequency sail on the Never Left Tour
After hitting The Satellite in LA, the gang cruised south for round 2 at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa. The East Coast showed out collectively, with openings from Chicago local Sunny Bornfree and OG Detroit native Frank Nitt.
Calvin Valentine: Portland native and production pundit. This dude funked the fuck out. Calvin's keys open doors.
With the tone set, Illa J hit the stage with poise and a dangerously contagious swagger. The sounds run deep in this family, it's not hard to tell. A warm butter exit capped his set, and tribute to legendary producer and brother, J Dilla.

This was the kind of shit that we’re glad we didn't miss, and we’re thankful to be a part of. Special thanks to Delicious Vinyl, Illa J, and Maya for coming by our spot as well as connecting the dots for our ears. May J Dilla rest in peace, and hip hop live forever.
