X-HUGE COLLECTION: YOU CAN’T GET LARGER THAN TRIPLE DIGITS

By xlarge @ 12:24 pm

We know you love Street Wear, and Street Wear loves you too. Don’t believe us? Look for confirmation of that undying affection no further, as XLarge and The Hundreds have put their hearts and heads together in a collaborative project with Casio to satisfy your every longing dream and desire. That’s right, the only watch you’ll ever need. The limited edition XL/TH G-SHOCK DW6900 is now available, but this gift from the Street Wear Gods to mankind will not last long, as it would seem every associate who’s been aware of this treasure’s arrival has been lying patiently in wait for the opportunity to pounce. On another note, I’ve also just found upon inspection of my own, now two minutes out of the package (which I know thanks to this products remarkable ability to track the passage of time), that the “G-light” illuminates the XLarge and TH logos across the display, dually and doubly increasing my previous tightness rating. Snatch ‘em up quick, before I figure out which room we’re storing them in.
(Shock-resistant, 200 M WR, auto calendar, 1/100 sec. stopwatch)

Retail: $169.00

But the love doesn’t end there, it keeps coming, and we know how to please.

Welcome the limited edition XL/TH New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap with an exclusive XL-stylized Adam Bomb logo, it’s redefines the idea of all-around beauty with its side panels featuring The Hundreds’ JAGS pattern heat-stamped in. If Samuel L. Jackson wore SW, this hat would be solely reserved for his use.

Retail: $45.00

Switching it up.

The special edition XL/TH t-shirt features the same insanely dope graphic in two variations, the grayscale will be available in both The Hundreds stores whilst the full color will remain exclusive to the XLarge store in Los Angeles.

Retail: $35.00

Now go buy some shit while I come to terms with the fact that I will never in my life be able to successfully set a digital watch.

In Memoriam. RIP Street Wear.

By xlarge @ 3:46 pm

With a sarcastic statement (in combination with 2 awesome graphic Ts) we are proclaiming the death of our own industry…. Street Wear. Since we started XLarge® in 1991, we have been warned by prognosticators of fashion that Street Wear was only a trend and would soon be out of fashion. I can’t even count the number of fashion trends that have come and gone during our 17 years, but it is a lot, and after all that time Street Wear is as popular as ever. So to honor the continued success of Street Wear and especially XLarge®, we are proud to make available to you, The ‘Street Wear is Dead’ Collection.

There are 2 Ts in the collection. One is for retail sales. The other is for staff only. We feel this is a way to reward our world wide Team XLarge® members with something extra special, as well as a cool way to market and promote the retail T-shirt.

Store employees and other staff members will wear the ‘staff’ shirts while working during the week that the ‘retail’ shirt is put on sale. The shirts will be available starting the first week of June at all Official XLarge® Retail Stores.

Thanks for all your support over the years.

Eli, and all at XLHQ.

Pringles can designer buried in his work (MSNBC)

By Capt. Nemo @ 12:50 pm

Pringles can designer buried in his work - Food Inc.- msnbc.com

CINCINNATI - The man who designed the Pringles potato crisp packaging system was so proud of his accomplishment that a portion of his ashes has been buried in one of the iconic cans.

Fredric J. Baur, of Cincinnati, died May 4 at Vitas Hospice in Cincinnati, his family said. He was 89.

Baur’s children said they honored his request to bury him in one of the cans by placing part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container in his grave in suburban Springfield Township. The rest of his remains were placed in an urn buried along with the can, with some placed in another urn and given to a grandson, said Baur’s daughter, Linda Baur of Diamondhead, Miss.

Baur requested the burial arrangement because he was proud of his design of the Pringles container, a son, Lawrence Baur of Stevensville, Mich., said Monday.

Baur was an organic chemist and food storage technician who specialized in research and development and quality control for Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co.

Baur filed for a patent for the tubular Pringles container and for the method of packaging the curved, stacked chips in the container in 1966, and it was granted in 1970, P&G archivist Ed Rider said.

Baur retired from P&G in the early 1980s.
