BOON Magazine Japan
Some pages from the feature on Xlarge in Boon Magazine Japan. It’s all in Japanese…and since our comprehension of the Japanese language is pretty much limited to vulgarities, the only thing I know for sure is that nowhere in the article are we called ‘assholes’. Who cares what it says…the pictures are nice. Thanks Stan at Xlarge Taiwain for the images. |

Top Ten Ski Resorts in North America.
Ski Magazine just released their Top 10 Ski Resorts for 2007 and I’m stoked on how 6 of the 10 are throwing distance from me: 1. Deer Valley, UT. It’s about 500 miles away from me, so I’ll probably never go there and I’m kind of ignorant of how Mormons feel about “my kind”. 2. Vail, CO. This place is awesome. Only 2 hours away from me. The resort gets copious amounts of soft fluffy powder almost everyday all day, but the town itself sucks hairy donkey balls. I was there with a few friends and we went out for some drinks, but it must of been amateur hour at the Apollo that night. Basically a bunch of frat boys trying to spread the clap and hood rats trying to get into fist fights over who has the biggest hoop earrings. 3. Whistler/Blackcomb, B.C. I’ve never been here, but I definitely want to go sooner than later. The other half of Future Relic, Kenyon, has gone there a couple of times. The 2010 Winter Olympics is going to be held here as well. The only thing that may suck about it is that you have to fly to Vancouver and THEN drive to get there…and it’s in Canada. Canada, eh? 4. Aspen, CO. You have to be ballin’ to go here. I mean like Lebron James kind of money. It usually takes me 4 hours to get there, but when it’s a powder day I heard it can take as long as 13 hours. 5. Snowmass, CO. Snowmass is pretty much right next to Aspen, so you can say that their one in the same. 6. Park City, UT. It’s in Utah… 7. Breckenridge, CO. It’s like RIGHT there (less than 2 hours away). Affectionately called Breck, this place is probably where most of the locals go skiing or riding. 8. Beaver Creek, CO. Right past Vail. 9. Steamboat, CO. This place is a little bit far in comparison to the other resorts, but another perfect example why the big C-O is the place to be during the winter. 10. Sun Valley, ID. Potatoes and ski hoes. |

First Snowboard
I am all packed and ready to leave at the end of this month for Boulder, Colorado for the entire snowboard season. This may sound like I’m an avid snowboarder, but the actuality is that I’ve only been snowboarding twice in my life and it was on the East Coast, so it was really iceboarding and not snowboarding. Hopefully by the end of this season I’ll be able to ride the bunny slopes with the 5 yr old girls with ease. The first step in becoming the king of the bunny slopes–buying your friend’s roommate’s “practically new” snowboard that’s been sitting in the closet for the past 3 years. Forum Snowboard Of course have to represent on the bunny slopes. |

XLarge in Flaunt Magazine
Flaunt Magazine’s, a lifestyle/art/entertainment magazine based out of LA, new issue is out on the stands now. This issue is all about the tumultuous/complacent ’90’s: with articles about the rave drug scene, Los Angeles in crises due to the largest race riot in US history and nonstop natural disasters, interviews with alt-rockers Frank Black, Thurston Moore and Krist Noveselic, and a fashion spread inspired from the ’90’s. And how can you have a fashion spread about the ’90’s without having XLARGE, one of the seminal streetwear brands that started in 1991? |
