XLarge’s first M-Site

By kidkangaroo @ 3:30 am

We’ve gone mobile with something to just pass the time - while you are on the can, bus, or just bored. Using your cell phone’s web browser go to http://www.xlarge.com/m or if you have a QR-Code reader (get one here) - point your phone at this:

Time to lace out that new iphone! (or if you’re like me, that crappy old nokia that you got for free). Xlarge and AT&T got together to offer up a couple graphics. go here and then do a search for ‘xlarge’ to check them out. If you don’t have AT&T, don’t worry…the other carriers will be coming on board soon.

O-matic Snowboards

By xlarge @ 6:59 pm

Christmas came a day early for me. Joon Yang and Jason Kanes from O-matic Snowboards, a small independent snowboarding company out of Encitas, CA sent me this awesome snowboard. The Wig-Out Board is the winner of the “BEST PARK BOARD” Award by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine. Jason Kanes designs and engineers the snowboards for O-matic. He started making snowboards 20 years ago to get free lift tickets, founding Joyride Snowboards to engineering and designing for Jeenyus and Forum along the way.Let me say a short word about Fed-Ex. Encitas, CA is about 1000 miles away from me (Boulder, CO). Jason sent the board standard overnight on Dec. 20. Fed-Ex decided to send the board to Indianapolis, IN, which is about 2000 miles away from Enitas, CA on the 21st of Dec. On Dec. 22nd (two days after Jason sent the board) they send the board to Denver, Co, which is only 30 miles aways from Boulder. The geniuses that Fed-Ex is they send the board to Memphis, TN. on the 23rd of Dec., which is 1,200 miles away. Then finally 4 days after Jason sends the board it finally arrives at me house. I’m not a geography wiz or a math wiz, but I thought overnight meant the next day and I always thought that sending something the shortest distance is the fastest and cheapest way to send something. I guess Fed-Ex, a multi-billion dollar company, knows something that I don’t know. The Wig-Out in question and they threw in a couple of free tee shirts.Big ups to Joon and Jason for hooking it up. I’ll let you know how it rides.Maybe I can ask Joon to hook up a date with O-matic’s pro rider Tara Dakides. HOOOOOOTTTTTT.
