In Memoriam. RIP Street Wear.
With a sarcastic statement (in combination with 2 awesome graphic Ts) we are proclaiming the death of our own industry…. Street Wear. Since we started XLarge® in 1991, we have been warned by prognosticators of fashion that Street Wear was only a trend and would soon be out of fashion. I can’t even count the number of fashion trends that have come and gone during our 17 years, but it is a lot, and after all that time Street Wear is as popular as ever. So to honor the continued success of Street Wear and especially XLarge®, we are proud to make available to you, The ‘Street Wear is Dead’ Collection. There are 2 Ts in the collection. One is for retail sales. The other is for staff only. We feel this is a way to reward our world wide Team XLarge® members with something extra special, as well as a cool way to market and promote the retail T-shirt. Store employees and other staff members will wear the ‘staff’ shirts while working during the week that the ‘retail’ shirt is put on sale. The shirts will be available starting the first week of June at all Official XLarge® Retail Stores. Thanks for all your support over the years. Eli, and all at XLHQ. |

The Upstairs Gallery at XLARGE presents: Dez Einswell
Drawing since the age of four, it was evident that Dez Einswell possessed a vivid imagination, doodling for hours upon hours. Today Dez is no different, as he has created an alternate universe where its inhabitants known as “The Doodlebarn” venture forth and explore the world in unconventional means that are often silly and alarmingly at times dark. Dez casually states, “Children are the essence of freedom in the mind.” In many ways, what Dez implies is true, children are uninhibited in their ways and display an open air of curiosity, it’s something that when we all grow old, we seem to lose. Using a wide array of color and applying sharp bold strokes, the creation of the The Doodlebarn come alive as they seem to relish in grabbing our attention, drawing us into their world. A critical commentary on mankind’s innate want to remain young and optimistic, Dez Einswell allows us take a second glance at the lives we lead as adults… We are proud to have him as our third artist in our gallery series. To commemorate this show Dez Einswell worked with XLARGE to produce special items that will be available exclusively at the XLARGE stores. The show opening will be on July 19th, Thursday. Drinks will be provided by Sapporo Beer.
