Busy busy busy day.

Greg from BKRW.com/ Black Rainbow came by to do interviews of everyone at XLARGE. Check out his site and look out for that feature coming up soon.

After the interviews I headed west to pay my friends Bobby and Benny a visit.

Everyone make sure to ask Bob about his “mink” coat the next time you see him.
Also, Benny just started moonlighting in the adult entertainment business. The Hundreds may be Huge, but I seriously doubt Benny is.

Here’s an even grosser picture of Ben’s pornstache:

R.I.P. - Tom Cadden (creator of Mr. Clean)

By Capt. Nemo @ 1:09 pm

Tom Scott Cadden, who penned the classic Mr. Clean jingle that popularized the brand in the 1950s and ’60s, died Nov. 2 in Glenview, Ill., after a long series of health problems. He was 83.

A self-taught musician, Mr. Cadden wrote jingles and produced commercials for many consumer products, including Pringles, Head & Shoulders and Bold laundry detergent.

The campaign created the now-familiar bald-headed character in a muscle shirt, and the icon and jingle were unveiled in TV and print ads in the summer of 1958.

Mr. Cadden left Tatham-Laird & Kudner in the early 1970s to pursue a career as a freelance composer and writer. His work with dozens of movie actors over his career spurred him to publish a movie-trivia book, “What a Bunch of Characters,” in 1984.

“He was talented and funny, a kind and generous man who was devoted to his family,” said Tim Cadden. “He was a real-life Mr.
Clean.”

XLarge in Flaunt Magazine

By xlarge @ 11:14 am

flaunt-cover.jpg

Flaunt Magazine’s, a lifestyle/art/entertainment magazine based out of LA, new issue is out on the stands now. This issue is all about the tumultuous/complacent ’90’s: with articles about the rave drug scene, Los Angeles in crises due to the largest race riot in US history and nonstop natural disasters, interviews with alt-rockers Frank Black, Thurston Moore and Krist Noveselic, and a fashion spread inspired from the ’90’s. And how can you have a fashion spread about the ’90’s without having XLARGE, one of the seminal streetwear brands that started in 1991?

“shreds” (youtube)

By Capt. Nemo @ 10:47 pm

If you like internet pranks and goofs (along the lines of getting rickrolled), get hip to the “shreds” phenomenon on youtube. Rock performance video meets home studio jamming and overdubbing… Check out Eddie’s ‘Smoke on the Water’ around 1:14…

Eddie Van Halen shreds…

Carlos Santana shreds…

Slash shreds…

One of the dopest shirts in recent memory.

By xlarge @ 10:43 am

Daniel Park of Future Rockstars of America produced one of the dopest shirts in recent memory. Only 50 were printed, so you may already be shit out of luck. Looking forward to what this company has in stored for the future. Don’t sleep.
