“I am making a comment by not making a comment,”- Hank Aaron
Barry Bonds is in Los Angeles today playing the Dodgers, about 5 miles away from the XLARGE offices. He currently has 754 home runs. Hank Aaron, the current all time home run leader with 755 home runs, is in Puerto Rico. Pretty far away from Bonds, huh? ![]() Bonds and Aaron in 2002. “I am making a comment by not making a comment,”- Hank Aaron (at a press conference today in Puerto Rico in regards to Bonds potential surpassing of his milestone). |

One Good Post Deserves Another.
Benny and Bobby from The Hundreds stopped by the Upstairs Gallery yesterday and were kind enough to post about the Dez Einswell Show on their site. I, of course, have to post how they posted about it on our site.

XLARGE and the Pack
XLARGE produced a tee for one of the premier fixed bike crews in California, the Wolfpack Hustle. Known for their brutal 40 mile rides through the streets of Los Angeles and underground drag races, they’re upping the ante within the fixed bike world. The Hustle Ride rolls every Monday at Tang’s Donut on Sunset and Fountain in Silverlake, CA starting at 10pm. As many already know, the fixed bike craze is spreading throughout the street world as well as throughout the mainstream, so these shirts will go fast. They are available exclusively at the XLARGE Flagship store in Los Angeles.

Room 401
There’s a new show on MTV that’s pretty gnarly, called Room 401, a reference to the number of the hospital room in which magician Harry Houdini died. They have unsuspecting victims witnessing illusionists perform frightening acts such as: having live crabs crawl out of their chest, deep frying their hand with hot oil, and seeing spirits come out of dead bodies. Rob Zabrecky, a friend of Eli’s, is one of the stars of the show. For “prank” shows this is definitely one of the best executed ones I’ve seen. You can catch it on Tuesday nights. |

Saturday Wrap Up.
Saturday was a packed day. Stopped by the Fairfax area for the block party they were having. Beers, bbq, cars, bikes, boards, and streetwear. Caught up with Erik, Eddie, and Ben. Met Dennis from Crooks for the first time. Talked about the Unity Show. The Unity Show is going to be sick. Crooks, Ssur, Greyone, Hellz Bellz, 3Sixteen, Slick, La Coka Nostra, XLARGE, and others will be there. (Sick line up right?) The block party was pretty chill. It’s always nice getting a beer buzz in the middle of the day. Sorry I didn’t have my camera with me, so no pics from that event. Later that night I went to check out Eli’s Furniture Show at the Ford Brady Space. ![]() Was once the Kim Sing Theatre. ![]() Really amazing space. ![]() Eli’s dope patio furniture. ![]() Eli with furniture lovers. ![]() Jenni B., Carl, Rory. ![]() Dave testing out the goods. ![]() This is how Rory thinks up designs for XLARGE. ![]() “I’ll do it tomorrow.” ![]() I need this “Welcome” mat for my place. I had so much fun and booze at the gallery opening that I missed Fast Eddie’s party for the official relaunch of the Sjobeck brand. I’m sorry I missed out. I heard it was an awesome event. Went to an afterhour spot in downtown LA with some friends from San Fran for a nightcap. Ended up giving a ride home to two random ass drunk girls, but ended up getting lost so just dropped them off in East LA. I wonder if they’re still alive. Finally ended up home at around 6. Pretty good Saturday. |
Friday XLARGE Lunch Day with our International Reps.
I’m late with the XLARGE Lunch Day post. It was a long and busy weekend starting from Dez’s Gallery Opening. We had lunch with our Taiwan Reps last Friday and Dave chose England as the country’s cuisine of choice. ![]() The crew walking in slow-mo in Old Pasadena. ![]() Lucky Baldwin’s Pub in Old Pasedena. They also sell tons of European beer and British candy bars. ![]() One big happy family. ![]() Jenni, Rory, Dave, and I all had the fish and chips. ![]() YiBling had the steak and mushroom pie. ![]() YiBling’s snakeskin bag had to get its own seat. ![]() Chicken and vegetable pie for Stan, his wife, and Stacie. ![]() After our heavy lunch and two pitchers of Bodington’s we all walked over to Greyone to say hi to Jerry and talk about the Unity Show in Vegas and the upcoming party with the Weekly Drop. ![]() Dave and Jerry. ![]() Merry Ole England. Erik on Weekly Drop
Our friend Erik Brunetti from FUCT is featured in the new installment of Weekly Drop. He talks a lot about the beginning of streetwear out in LA and was kind enough to mention XLARGE and Eli. Please go check it out. As always, Erik is very engaging and honest.

Dez Einswell Opening Wrap Up
We’ve upped the ante last night. Dez Einswell is the featured artist and I have to say that he really out did himself for the show. Everything from the pieces, to the installation, to the collab, to the vinyl decals, to the presentation was exceptional and he set a new standard. If you missed the opening then you have to come by and check out the gallery. It’s really something. ![]() The Dez Einswell x XLARGE Silverback Gorilla Vinyl Toy was made available last night at the opening. If you think it looks rad now then you’ll have to see it in person. It’s really incredible. You can see more pics of the figure and the paintings on Vinyl Pulse. I’ll post larger photos of Dez’s work next week. ![]() Hayden, Joff, and Danny Boy of La Coka Nostra hanging out right before the opening. ![]() Christine, the new girl to the XLARGE Family ![]() People tend to spill out onto the streets at our events. ![]() Jenni, our female counterpart, and Carl. ![]() Billy Valdez in the mix at the Upstairs Gallery. ![]() The Man of the Night, Dez and just me…Or you can just call us Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb. ![]() Zeke plus two. Zeke was the one who hooked it up with the dope vinyl decals on the windows and walls. Thanks, Zeke! ![]() Sooji, Tammi, and Esther. We affectionately call them the STD crew. (Not to be confused with Dez’s STD group) ![]() Have a good night and see everyone at the next show. |
