Graffiti Tracker: Tool for the law or tool for the writer?

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 1:14 pm

Eli told me about this new software that the law enforcement is using to curb graffiti and vandalism called Graffiti Tracker. Someone goes around taking photos of tags and pieces and the images are then fed right into a global positioning system and database to whichever computer has the software. You can type in the moniker and it will show you every location on a map that person got up represented by a spray can icon. It will even describe what it looks like with a photo attached. It provides a “Top Ten” list of the most prolific taggers. So basically, it may help pin point an area where the tagger may live or work and once the person is caught they have a database of the amount of offenses. However, I think this is as useful a tool for the writers. If anything if I was a writer I would want to have the software myself and have all other writers own it too, so that we can see each other’s work and see all the places we got up. Because at the end of the day graffiti is about becoming famous and prolific. I would want to be #1 on the “Top Ten” list and have the map covered with icons representing where I got up. Wouldn’t you?

Top Ten List of Writers.
You can see how many more hits you need to move up a spot.

Area of concentration.
You can see which areas you need to hit more.

The kind of map writers would want to stride for.
