The air we breathe.

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 1:36 pm

Battery Park City, New York City
“Don’t worry. You’re good. Move right in. Go back to work. Bleeding lungs? Noooooooo…”

A study of more than 20,000 people by Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York concluded that since the attacks, 70 percent of ground zero workers have suffered some sort of respiratory illness.
A separate medical study released last month found that rescue workers and firefighters contracted sarcoidosis, a serious lung-scarring disease, at a rate more than five times as high as in the years before the attacks. - NY TIMES

59/Fifty: the field trip

By rory @ 1:15 pm

Today, Jenni and Dave and I went down to Irvine to meet up with the New Era guys. 40 miles in 1 1/2 hours…you do the math.

reds all the way down the 5…

At some point, Dave fell asleep while driving. That was exciting.

I was on Ipod duty, which meant we listened to ‘Care of Cell 44′ by the Zombies over and over until at least Brea.

We met up in the Buffallo showroom to work out the details. Buffalo as in Buffalo, New York…where Ehrhardt Koch founded the company in the 1920’s (know your history!!!)

By the way, our New Era caps will be dropping in the Spring.

Game faces
On the way home, we took a late lunch tour at Clearman’s North Woods Inn.

Peanuts were served, and throwing the shells on the floor was incouraged.

Jenni’s.

Dave’s

…and mine. How could we NOT have felt ill after this?

The roof at Clearman’s is covered with sausage gravy all year round…

It was good to get back to LA, especially since all of of my new tee samples had been delivered.

Eli on Black Rainbow

Eli appears in the “Who’s who” section of Black Rainbow. If you’re in France you should check out their new shop, which is the exclusive store in France that carries XLARGE items.

“And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit then everybody say O-Yea-yer”

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 3:49 pm

I’m heading out for Nashville, TN for the rest of the week, so you guys will have to read postings from other XLARGE members. (Which means you’re not going to read anything new for the rest of the week.) I’ll try to update this blog while I’m out in the Dirty South, in between tracker pulls and running from Klansmen.

Firecracker Recap.

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 12:12 pm

The party Friday night was packed. Here’s a few photos from that night.

Firecracker at Grand Star.

Line outside the door.

Rough times getting a drink.

What’s good on the tele?

Dez stopped by.

Loverboy Joff with his woman.

Shawna plus 1.

Nice tee and hoodie.

DJ’s for the night.

Who doesn’t love Dilla?

I had nothing to do with this. They did this on their own accord.

All You Can Eat Round Table Pizza was a Bad Choice.

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 4:13 pm

This week was a tough week for me. After I got my car vandalized and had my stuff stolen out of it last week, I finally get my car back this past Monday. Later that night I blow out my two front tires and f*ck up the wheels when I hop the median on the freeway. On Tuesday I’m driving to get my wheels fixed and some idiot runs a stop sign and plows into me. I spent most of this week yelling at insurance agents, cursing at the idiot who hit me over the phone, and slamming things around. Needless to say, I wasn’t the best person to be around. I’m officially calm now and am glad it’s the weekend, so wanted to treat the people around me to lunch. The classy group of people we are, we choose Round Table Pizza for lunch. It wasn’t the best choice.

They have an All-You-Can-Eat Lunch Buffet for $5.99 and video games. Need I say more?

This is what $5.99 can buy you.

Rory seemed to handle Round Table pretty well.

I, on the other hand, had to use my entire Luke Anakin Obi-Wan Yoda-esque Jedi mind trick to keep from throwing up.

XLARGE Summer Recap.

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 1:57 pm

Dog days of summer usually mean less of a hectic schedule, but I guess that doesn’t seem to be the case with XLARGE. With all the different projects, products, and parties that have been coming up it may be a good time for a recap.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Los Angeles Building, 49 X 72 Inches

First, the Logan Hicks Show will only be up at the Upstairs Gallery for another few weeks. A few of his pieces however are still available for sale. You can contact me for anymore information. (paul@xlarge.com)

Autographed Michael Lau posters are available at the XLARGE LA store to coincide with the release of the toys. We only have 8 left for $40 each. These are instore exclusives.

Special thanks to Erik. Erik Brunetti was kind enough to hand deliver the XLARGE x Fuct shirts earlier this week, so all the phone calls and emails can cease. They are now available.

Mobius is having their grand opening tomorrow night and XLARGE is sponsoring the Peanut Butter Wolf Party at Firecracker later that same night. Hopefully I’ll see all of you at both events.

There’s going to be more and more stuff coming throughout this summer, so keep visiting this blog for updates.

Peanut Butter Wolf

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 3:09 pm

This Friday’s event is part of Peanut Butter Wolf’s 777 Tour in celebration of Stones Throw’s 10 year Anniversary. He’ll be playing 70’s Afro-Latin and disco music. This will be Peanut Butter Wolf’s first appearance at Firecracker since 2000, when Stones Throw first moved to LA. XLARGE is proud to be one of the sponsors. Please come out and enjoy yourselves.
