By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 11:00 am

After a hectic two weeks the inaugural show with The London Police finally came to a head with the opening last night.

The left side of the stairs

The right side of the stairs

Early birds.

Packed house.

I don’t know why I’m hung over today.

Ming-Chi. Thanks for providing the wonderful beer.

Chaz arrived a little late. It took him another hour before he could even step inside, because of all the people wanting him to sign black books, toys, shirts, pillows, etc.

Logan Hicks and Gary Parkin from Destructo

Amanda,Shepard, and the gorgeous Vivian Fairey

Shep being bombarded with questions from adoring fans.

Slick next to his product.

Cheers to a great night.

To see pictures of the genesis to the opening please visit here.

And to see better quality photos than my shitty point and click photos I took half drunk than visit Vinyl Pulse.

Haters

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 10:19 pm

Update: So I’ve gotten some responses to the Paris Hilton posting. Some raised eyebrows, others with lewd comments that I chose not to approve, and one other straight up dissing. When my attention was first brought to this picture there was a 2 second debate on if I should or shouldn’t post this picture. We decided to post it because:
1. We don’t control the people who wear our clothes or stylists who aquire our clothes, nor do we wish to.
2. We know that every streetwear-no-pussy-getting-geek out there spending their moms money on bapestas wouldn’t pass her up if they had a chance. (Unless you’re gay, but I’m not hatin’. HEEEEEEYYYY!)
3. Paris is hotter than Fergie, straight up. (No offense to M.O.B.)
4. Paris is hotter than Robin Williams. (No offense to BAPE, Lemar & Dauley, Supreme, DJ Honda, etc.)
5. Robin Williams is hotter than Fergie.
6. Mork and Mindy was a bad ass show.
7. Is that show out on DVD yet?
8. One Night in Paris IS out on DVD.
9. I am probably the only person on God’s green planet who hasn’t seen it yet.
10. Come see The London Police on Thursday.

Recap on the UCLA v. USC shirts and Bearbricks

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 4:20 pm

Apparently there was a bit of a rush this weekend for the shirts and Bearbricks and some confusion with our homies at the retail shop due to my total incompetence. To clarify: Yes, they are available at the store. Yes, you can order them over the phone. No, you don’t have to email me angry notes. Yes, I’m a total donkey. Yes, you can kick my teeth in at the London Police Show opening at the Upstairs Gallery at XLARGE this Thursday at 7 o’ clock. (You like the way I brought it back to promoting the show?)

Motivational Sat.

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 2:12 pm

My buddy Nima from Digital Gravel, Danny Boy of House of Pain, and others are going to be speaking on Sat at Fairfax High School Auditorium…Does that officially mean that we’re old? When people start asking you to give motivational speeches that means two things: 1. You’ve made it. 2. You’re old.

Hey Nima, try to do your best Chris Farley’s “van down by the river” bit. That’ll inspire the shit out of me.

USC v. UCLA

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 2:33 pm

As it goes in LA, you’re either a UCLA fan or a USC fan. The campuses are only ten miles apart. The closeness of alumni and students, and the likelihood of running into each other at the local pubs and on the streets and interacting on a daily basis make this one of the most intense and storied college rivalries in the United States. With the Pac-10 tournament and March Madness underway you will have to take sides. XLARGE created a shirt in the USC and UCLA colorways (respectively) to commemorate this rivalry and is available in America exclusively at the Vermont store.

Guess what we found.

By Paul-is-a-Future-Relic @ 1:27 pm

Looks like through some weird Japanese abacus inventory mistake they forgot to send us some of the Limited Medicom XLARGE 15 yr Anniversary Bearbricks. They’re for sale from our flagship store in LA. The 100% are $20 shipping included (available in white and black) and the 400% (available in black) are $85. Eight dollars for domestic shipping, $16 for international shipping.
