Blog-Go-Gi Day
We started a tradition at XLARGE of all going out for lunch together every other Friday. We alternate on who chooses the restaurant. This time around it was my turn. Since I am new to the Los Angeles area I took a recommendation and went to Manna, an all you can eat meat coma joint in Koreatown. Here’s the outcome: ![]() Mmmmmmmm. ![]() Rory is dressed for the occasion. ![]() Dave’s place setting aftermath. ![]() Jenni’s ![]() Rory’s (President of the Good Eaters Club) ![]() Paul’s ![]() What’s lunch time at XLARGE without drinking involved? Some of the quotables from lunch: Rory- “This is one of those places where you go to the bathroom and throw up to make room for more.” Dave- “Where did Paul go?” Paul- “I think my Holland Tunnel is opening for traffic now? Jenni- “Giggle. Giggle. Giggle.” Dave- “ ‘Why don’t you try getting jacked off under |

Radical Sensory Immersions Show
New York City born, Venice bred artist, Andrea McDonald will be showing her work at the Box Eight Studio in Downtown LA along side Bradley Bongar. Her work looks similar to the makeshift walls at a construction site that has been covered with wheat posters and graffiti. The unique way in which the paper fades and how it is, seemingly, torn flippantly on top of a tapestry of other torn wheat pastes gives the complete work a very raw energy that is characteristic of a bubbling metropolis. It definitely appears to be work one must go see in person to fully appreciate. Box Eight Studio is located at 910 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90015. Opening is on April 14th at 7PM. Flyer is attached below.

Hey Gap! Go f*ck yer self!
Gap, the authentically hip company they are, came out with “Williamsburg Jeans” with a tigher “hipster” fit. Man, the donkeys at Gap really have their ears to the street.

Most official…
For better or for worse and after three months here at XLARGE I finally feel official. After working out of the basement shackled to the furnace I finally got my own workstation today. ![]() My workstation before. ![]() My new workstation. ![]() Yes, your cards you give me aren’t thrown away. |
Let my tape rock ’til my tape popped.
Can I spaz out for a minute here? Souls of Mischief and Ugly Duckling are performing this Friday night at the Terrace in Pasadena! Growing up I use to let my tape rock ’til my tape popped. After Wetlands and Tramps closed in New York there really hasn’t been a good hip hop venue. Maybe maybe maybe S.O.B.’s. So basically I stopped following hip hop for the past 5 years. I come out to LA and well well well, look at who’s playing together this Friday–the muthaf*ckin’ Souls and Ducks. Can you guys tell that I’m geeking through the internet? ![]() “I be the chill from 93 ’til” ![]() “You know what I’m sayin’?” |

There will be music, dancing, drinking, art, and everything else that one might want from an event like this one. For more information and press release please click here. |

Work or pleasure?
The thing I love about LA and the streetwear world is that work and pleasure are one in the same on most days. A trip to the Army surplus store to do research becomes cupcake day. How would anyone trade this for a job as a project manager at an IT firm?

Dave’s Desk Follow Up
So Kev is a quick little sucker. I posted a picture of Dave’s desk in our office a while back and said that I’ll explain it later. Hypebeast beat me to the punch. I’ll show you the specially designed XLARGE Japanese Sprite cans as soon as we get them in our office…Unless Kev scoops me on it. |

Last Night for an Englishman in Los Angeles
Friday was the last night for the old geez in Los Angeles before heading off to Amsterdam and going on a whirlwind tour through Asia for the K-Spray 3 Tour. ![]() Korean bbq with Logan and Gary ![]() Brass Monkey. That funky monkey. ![]() Chaz’s helium inspired rendition of “Staying Alive”.
![]() Once Chaz started a-singing the groupies came a-flocking. I hope to see everyone in May for Logan Hicks’ Farewell Los Angeles Show at the Upstairs Gallery. |
